What do you do after you been drinking, smoking, caffienating your organs and eating sweets and carbs? Well, when it's all done and you're body is just about as maxed out as can be, you go on a detox! And then you maintain it for the rest of your existence. Or, do another binge when depressed. You know, whatever. I want to open this new chapter with a detox. And let me tell you, for anyone interested in cleansing their body and soul simultaneously, how I plan to go about it. With a little research and commitment, you can too if you want. There's three main steps: 1. food 2. exercise 3. meditation I know. Shocker. Who on earth would have guessed? So let's get into this. The specific cleanse I am doing is the 3 day organic apple detox. Which means for three days straight, I eat like 10 apples a day. Now, I might mention that you don't just jump into it cold turkey otherwise you very likely could turn into a crazy mega-bitch that will devour any person within close proximity that "looks at you funny" God forbid anyone criticizes you during that week. Yeesh. Better to just stay away from people during this period. In all honesty though, not just because of hormonal mood swings, I mean there's actually a reason our emotions go out of whack during detoxes. First of all, your body is purging. And body is connected to the spirit too... so naturally, it is a very intimate journey. Your entire being is going through a cleanse. Take some time for yourself, time to reflect and... referring back to #3 --> meditate. Avoid going out during specifically those 3 days when all you're doing is eating apples. Rest, meditate, read. Stay away from the computer screen too, as that actually is pretty toxic. Staring at a screen for hours wreaks havoc on our bodies. If you're doing a cleanse, you're really doing nothing for yourself if you counter act your positive actions with toxic ones. Okay, so back to the diet part. The whole food part of the detox is about 7 days. 1-2 days of eating simple food: green juices, salads, baked fish 3 days of eating 10-12 apples + herbal teas and TONS of water (drink SmoothMove laxative herbal tea to keep things moving at this time) 1-2 days of eating the same as mentioned above ^ And then you keep the diet clean after the 7 days. Your body will have grown accustomed to the clean ways of eating, during this process, your colon will have gone through an intense cleanse. So obviously no more nicotine, alcohol or oily/fried foods, caffeine/sweets. During these 7 days, let's fit the exercise and other detox parts in. So you got your food diet down, now we talk about enemas and epsom salt baths. Warm water and epsom salt draws toxins out by causing you to sweat. Same with exercise. Your body needs to sweat. A lot. Now during the 3 day apple detox, you won't be doing much exercising, that's when you can take epsom salt baths to continue the sweat cleansing process. Before and after those 3 days though, do a lot of hot yoga which causes you to sweat. A lot. Now don't forget to drink water with lots of lemon in it (as it is cleansing and alkalizing) but also, you will be losing a lot of electrolytes, so you need to keep yourself properly hydrated or else you'll being doing more harm than healing. Stop yoga for those 3 days, replace with epsom salt baths. Resume yoga after apple eating 3 days are done. Now last but not least, the elimination part. We have covered the entering of the nutrients, the sweating of the toxins. Now let's talk about everyone's favorite hobby. Pooping. People either don't practice this hobby enough, or too much. Think Goldielocks and the 3 bears. Remember, Goldielocks and the 3 turds. Three times a day. After breakfast, lunch and dinner. ]] Now this is our goal, and for most, a long-term one. During these 7 days, we are setting the foundation for our body to be able to go Goldielocks and her 3 bears. How? Well, everything we've been doing above AND enemas. So this is the last part of our entire detoxification process. And it lasts the longest too. So you start with an enema the night BEFORE your 7 days cleanse. Remember, day 1 of your 7 days cleanse is when you basically stop eating crap, and begin eating salads, fish and green juice. Basically just keep it to that. Have a piece of fruit in the morning. I love honey dew. Whatever does it for you. Keep it light, cause you're prepping yourself for 3 days of virtual starvation. I'm kidding. If you think of it as a spiritual fast, it doesn't feel so much like starvation, because you know, even though you're fucking starving and all you want are some fries and a beer... you're cleansing... purging. So the less going into that mouth, the better. So, first mineral salt enema will be kept in the shortest amount of time. Try to keep it in as long as you possibly can. On the night before Day 1 begins. Now, Day 2 of the apple cleanse (meaning, right in the middle of the 3 day apple detox) you do another enema. (you're also drinking a senna based tea: smoothmove to keep things moving while you're eating apples) Now more crap is being eliminated from your intestines. Literally, gunk that's been sitting there, clinging to the walls and fermenting for months is being washed out. So embrace this process. After another 3 days, do another mineral salt enema. Keep it in as long as possible, each time it will get easier and easier to hold it in longer. Now after those 3 main enemas, do an enema 1x week for 4-5 weeks. Feel it out for yourself, if you think you need that extra week, do it. If you feel so amazing after the 4 week, give your colon a rest from all that flushing. Remember that keeping your diet clean is a must for the enemas to do anything at all. The yin and yang of life. It's all connected. And so is exercise. You gotta sweat, you gotta literally have sweat DRIPPING off your flesh. Not just moist skin. PUDDLES. If you have a sensitive nose, you can smell your sweat and see the drastic change during the month of this whole process. With the food diet, and the exercise and the enema.. by the end of that month, you're going to smell like an angel made love to a fairy. The perfume of heaven will be found beneath your underarms. You'll be like an axe commercial except the natural version. Okay everyone. I'm off to it. I think the most difficult part for me will be the hot yoga. I love sweating my socks off to Zouk but dance is an exception. When it comes to exercise, I am the laziest motherdancer in the world. I've pretty much gone through my life with the attitude of just put an eclaire in my hand, I'll touch my toes for you and we'll call it a day. (btw- you can dance too! Anything that makes you sweat, just we're trying to refrain from injuring the body, that's why I said yoga) But this time I'm serious. I'm gonna sweat my clothes right off in that hot yoga room! See you all in my Pt. 2 Detox -- one month from now. Hopefully by then I'll be Goldielocks on that toilet. Jesus, this has been the most crass and non-poetic entry of my life. lmao. Too much watching comedy central... hopefully I made you at least chuckle =P |

Today, I sat on my bed and listened to the friend. It's liberating to rediscover the most encompassing truth is not in fact a tragedy. It makes you laugh, and laugh with joy! I want to deepen my connection with the source of all life and existence. To live trust. Be trust. I wish to one day come upon the surrender that I write about in ignorance.
